The Lone Stranger

To be lonely is not a feeling we crave

To walk among strangers that know not our name.

To have no future, to carry no past

Beyond tomorrow, to not know it’s our last.

To feel drained from within and raw from without.

To have no hope, to harbor no doubt.

The wolf at the door is howling in pain.

It knows no mercy, it knows no shame.

It loves with a passion that burns in the night

It lives in the darkness, it sees not the light

Depression will kill us less quick than a blade

As slowly but surely, our memories fade

The end of it all is less sad than to live

To learn to believe is to love what we give

What good are hope and faith

If what we believe is a lie?

If God is Love, then God help us

When it is our time to die
